Description
Genesis Tile Spacers
Tile spacers are small, cross-shaped or T-shaped pieces typically made of plastic that are used in tiling projects to ensure even spacing between tiles. They play a crucial role in achieving a professional, uniform look by helping to maintain consistent gaps (also known as grout lines) between the tiles. These gaps are later filled with grout to seal the tiles and add strength to the overall installation.
Consistency and Alignment:
- Tile spacers ensure that the tiles are laid out with precise, even gaps between them. This uniformity is crucial for both the aesthetic appeal and the structural integrity of the tiling job.
Material:
- Most spacers are made of plastic, which is durable and flexible. Some are reusable, while others are designed to be disposable.
Application:
- Spacers are inserted between tiles as you lay them to ensure each tile is the correct distance from the next. They are left in place until the adhesive or mortar sets, and then they are removed before grouting.
Removal:
- Once the tiles are set and the adhesive has dried, the spacers can be easily pulled out, usually by hand or with a pair of pliers. Depending on how they were applied, they can even be grouted over.
Ideal for use with GLS Tile Wedges.
