Natural stones often contain traces of Iron, which may oxidise when they come into contact with moisture either from rain or cleaning.  It can also occur when stone comes into contact with certain acid-based cleaners that contain ingredients that can accelerate the oxidisation process.

The result of this oxidation is that the stone develops rust and discolouration (brown staining).

LTP Ferrex is specifically formulated to help remove these blemishes.

For single spots of rust use LTP Rust Stain Remover.

Preparation:
Ensure that the surface to be treated is cool and completely free from loose matter before application. Always test on an inconspicuous area prior to general use.

Application: SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
Extremely severe cases dilute 1:1 with water

Severe cases dilute 1:2 with water

Mild cases dilute 1:3 with water

Test on a small area before general application. Apply the solution to the surface and spread out evenly. For external applications
garden sprayers can be used. For severe cases surfaces should be agitated using a short haired scrubbing brush or black emulsifying
pad. After 3 – 6 hours, rinse with plenty of clean water. If traces remain after a couple of days repeat the process. After treatment
the surface should be protected from water.
Further treatment:
Sealing with an impregnating sealer such as LTP External Stone Sealer or LTP Mattstone H20 will render the surface resistant to
water penetration, greatly reducing the possibility of rust discolouration from returning.
